Rolling Steel Fire Rated Doors

Cornell rolling steel fire doors meet demanding fire safety standards and aesthetic requirements. Rolling fire-rated doors are designed to close automatically in the event of a fire or alarm.

Standard Commercial Door Materials & Features

Many of our doors are made of steel or aluminum because these materials are long-lasting and reliable. Doors may be manufactured to Enhance Security and reduce the amount of sound that may enter or exit the building. Other doors may be designed for High Speed, which can increase the efficiency of your operation. Other doors may be constructed with insulation, which can improve the ability of a business owner to Control the Climate inside the building.

Some doors are built to meet Fire Safety standards and will close automatically when there is a fire. Other doors are constructed with a “bare-bones” approach, ideal for small businesses that need a Light-Duty Service Door that functions reliably over many years. An upgraded door might feature insulation or sound reduction. In addition to different features, some doors are constructed in different shapes. For example, some doors are roll-up doors while others are sectional doors.

How Do I Know When to Replace My Overhead Door?

Replacing an overhead door is a project that may cause delays in your operation, and that’s why it’s essential to contact an experienced company like the American Roll-Up Door Company to handle your Commercial Overhead Door Installation. You may find it beneficial to have your current door fixed by our repair technicians, but too many repair requests may indicate the need for a new door. Over time, components age and whither, and that’s when we recommend getting a new overhead door.

We know how important it is for your business to operate normally each day, and that’s why we work to make sure our installation work doesn’t take any more time than is necessary. If you’re the owner or manager of a building with a Busy Loading Dock Environment, we know you can’t sit around and wait weeks for your new overhead door to be installed. We’re here to complete installation work as quickly as possible so that you can get on with the business of the day.

Is an Overhead Door Important for My Business?

A commercial overhead door isn’t a fascinating part of any building, but it’s undoubtedly an essential component of your business. For many companies, a Fully Functioning Overhead Door is necessary for regular operations. For example, a solid and Secure Overhead Door that can open and close on command is a vital part of an active loading dock environment. A door that won’t open can halt an operation completely, and a door that won’t close can cause severe operational inefficiencies.

When your overhead door doesn’t work, it can negatively impact your bottom line, and an overhead door that has reached the end of its life span can become an unfortunate hassle over time. With a new overhead door from the American Roll-Up Door Company, you’ll be able to focus on the activities that make money for your business rather than on the downtime that a malfunctioning overhead door might cause.

Commercial Door Brands We Carry

We’ve spent many years researching and selecting the best overhead door manufacturers and brands, and that’s why we carry products from respected companies like Clopay and CHI, as well as ASTA and Cornell. We want to be a trusted partner for your business, whether you need new overhead door installation or need our technicians to come out for a service call.

Cornell ESD10 Service Door

Service Doors, also known as overhead coiling doors or rolling steel doors, are metal slatted doors that roll up to store in coil above the opening. Our doors can open by motor, chain, hand-crank, or push-up operation, depending on size, weight and/or frequency of operation.

Our Service Doors are:
  • Customizable: Our doors are custom built to fit your opening size, operation and aesthetic preferences.
  • Space Saving: Our doors roll upward and store in a tight coil above the opening for fuller use of the interior space, reducing interference with other building components.
  • Long Lasting: The rugged construction and quality materials assure long life and less costly maintenance, lowering the total cost of ownership.

The doors are constructed for daily use and can withstand operation of up to 20 cycles per day – that’s 50,000 cycles for the lifetime of the door.

If your requirements call for more than 20 cycles per day, or 50,000 cycles lifetime, contact us.

Cornell Rolling Fire Doors

Rolling Steel Fire Doors are structural separations used to prevent the spread of fire and smoke throughout a building. Our Fire Doors are Factory Mutual Approved, listed with the California Office of the State Fire Marshal, and are UL Listed for ¾, 1 ½, 3 and 4 hours of fire protection. These doors are designed for daily use to provide security and access control, and are approved for openings that are not required means of egress .

Cornell Thermiser® Insulated Rolling Door ESD20

Our Thermiser Insulated Rolling Doors are designed for exterior openings where maintaining different temperatures, (also known as environmental separation) on each side of the door is necessary and/or desirable. The full perimeter seal of these energy-efficient doors also reduces sound transmission compared to non-insulated rolling doors.

Thermiser doors provide all the benefits of our standard rolling doors, plus:

  • Climate Control: Our advanced full-perimeter seal and insulated curtains provide impressive reductions in air infiltration and thermal transference
  • Security: Our insulated curtain design features two layers of metal with foam in between, making the door stronger and more secure
  • Sound Reduction: The Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating is up to 30 for the curtain and up to 22 for the entire assembly, as tested per ASTM E90 (with a complete, operable assembly)

The doors are constructed for daily use and can withstand operation of up to 20 cycles per day – that’s 50,000 cycles for the lifetime of the door.

If your requirements call for more than 20 cycles per day, or 50,000 cycles lifetime, contact us.
